Pre-acquisition Phase 1 Geoenvironmental Desk Study and Preliminary Ground Investigation
Former Print Factory, Dundee
Undertook detailed desk top study and site walkover survey of historic industrial site which had previously been used since mid-1800s for gas holders and then as a jute textile mill with processing and cooling ponds and later as a print works. Site was still entirely covered with four story buildings and had two culverted watercourses running beneath it.
Undertook preliminary ground investigation using low headroom intrusive ground investigation techniques to obtain in-situ geotechnical parameters and samples for geotechnical and chemical testing. Proved natural strata and made ground and assessed requirements for reclamation and scope for further intrusive investigation post-acquisition and planning.
Disused former print works buildings covering entire site footprint in city centre setting
