We design conventional and specialist ground gas investigations to suit the complexity of each site. The key lies in a robust conceptual site model (CSM) and then the accuracy, quality and volume of the dataset. Whilst gas screening values prove useful in characterising ground gas regimes on many sites, for larger or complex sites outcomes are seldom clear cut and the selection of appropriate gas mitigation measures then comes from a forensic assessment and interpretation of a wider dataset and professional judgement.
